True Blue Bay, Grenada

My parents arrive tomorrow for the wedding and to spend a week with us on the boat before the rest our family arrive. Our main job today is shopping – as Kevin still does not have shoes (well sandals) for the wedding, he decides that the best place to buy this and all other things is the chandlery. We head to Island Water World in St. George’s where there is also the monthly book swap in aid of the Grenada Heart Foundation. We heard about the book swap on the Grenada Cruiser net, which is a volunteer run morning call on the VHF radio on channel 68 every morning at 7.30am. We’d read about it in the pilot book, but it was Kate and Jonny that got us listening to it and it is on every morning now. They announce social events, second hand and want ads, arrivals and departures and emergency and navigational info.

Tonight, Kate and I watch her copy of Sex & The City, The Movie – I really enjoyed a girlie night as Kevin and Jonny sat out in the cockpit drinking rum & coke! Kate did warn me it wasn’t really a pre-wedding film as it involved a standing-up at the altar scene, but as it was followed by a getting married in much simpler style I thought it suited our beach wedding well.
