True Blue Bay Resort, Grenada

Everyone was feeling a little fragile this morning as we did celebrate in style at the wedding reception with champagne, Carib beer, wine and rum punches. Today was a day-off for my family, who spent the day at their hotels enjoying their holidays, Kevin and Alex however had a dive booked in for the afternoon. Barry and Marie-Jeanne were also busy with boat cleaning now that one set of visitors had left them and they were departing the following morning to head north via a few stop-offs to collect boat supplies in progress to the British Virgin Isles where they were meeting Marie-Jeanne’s parents who would be visiting for a month.

Kevin and I had a nice breakfast together at Dodgy Dock, I still wearing my hair up complete with flowers and my pearls determined to stretch out the wedding as long as possible. I retired to our room to ring some of the friends and family who had not managed to come out to the wedding and post up pictures on the blog whilst Kevin and Alex went off diving and Sean went sailing with Jonny again on the Hobie cats.

Alex and Kevin returned back whilst I was still speaking to our good friend Christine who has been such a fantastic help to me in managing to arrange another friend Margaret to attend my second fitting for my wedding dress and getting it to Alex to come over and in generally being one of our biggest supporters in this trip since we began the planning. So a big thank you to Chris for everything you have done for us and continue to do. Kevin went to speak to Chris whilst Alex excited told me all about her dive, hands still shaking with excitement as she showed me the pictures of the sharks she had stroked! They had done a Drift dive in the current off the nearby Glover Island and seen a number of nurse sharks sleeping under the reef, one of which she had come close enough to stroke! It was the first things she told everyone she saw for the rest of the holiday and there was no doubt she was enjoying her trip!

Kevin and I then got an hour to ourselves to enjoy our Jacuzzi bath before we met Barry and Marie-Jeanne for dinner with Sean and Alex at the Dodgy Dock. It is very hard to say goodbye to them as we had been planning to cruise through the Panama and Pacific together, but we really feel that there is much for us still to see in the Caribbean and because we have not such a tight schedule we have decided to delay our Panama transit for a year. However, I am sure we will stay in touch as who know as plans change that we still not meet up somewhere on route.
