Tyrell Bay, Carricou

Jo’s Dad’s birthday, and what a way to greet the day, rising at 6am looking out of the porthole of our berth, at the pelicans diving for their breakfast, what more could you want. After breakfast we motored round the headland to Hillsborough Bay, with Pete and Kev having a dive en-route. We then anchored up in the bay for lunch, where the local ferry for being prepared for a Independence Day Party, it seemed the whole population of the village were going out for a sail and the Reggae music was blasting out in true Caribbean style. We went ashore to have a look around, but the place was deserted. The houses are a beautiful sight against the lush green vegetation, all in pastel colours with varying colours of tin roofs. We decided to go back to Tyrell Bay at the Twilight restaurant where we had a wonderful meal overlooking the sea for Pete’s Birthday.
