Today’s aim was to sail down the west coast of Grenada and explore the next small island in the chain called Carricou. It was a bit of a choppy ride as we were against the current and sailing into the wind, but at one point we were accompanied by a pod of dolphins and all day we saw many Frigate birds diving for fish and numerous flying fish. We tried taking photographs, but with the boat bouncing over the waves and the flying fish only on view momentarily I don’t think they were very successful.
When we arrived in Tyrrell Bay, we joined many other cruisers moored there and anchored next to a small coral reef. Everyone’s picture of a Caribbean beach. Pelicans and seabirds entertained us, diving for fish over the reef. We all went for a snorkel to see the many small and colourful fish.
